Godfrey DiGiorgi is a photographer based in California's San Francisco Bay Area. Godfrey grew up around the suburbs and downtown of New York City. His life interest in photography developed at an early age: on entering high school, he was borrowing cameras and finding creative ways to obtain film and darkroom time. This work remained his avocation through high school and college, leading to commissions documenting events, artists' portfolios, and personal exhibitions. Following the award of his college degree, Godfrey entered a career in science at NASA and later went to work on computer technology at Apple Computer. During this time he used photography as a tool for the exploration of imaging technologies and self expression. He took advantage of many opportunities to travel and make photographs in the United States, British Isles, Europe and Japan. Since departing Apple Computer in 2004, he has devoted his energy to the development of photographic works.
